CONTEXT INSTALLATION

Claude: Projects + Skills

Where your three context files live in Claude, and how to keep them working.

Set it up

Create a "Business Brain" Project. Upload all three context files. Add any brand assets (past launch emails, favorite posts, program descriptions). For each major initiative, create a separate Project and re-upload the three context files plus project-specific docs.

How it gets used

Inside each Project, Claude automatically has access to all uploaded files. Create Skills that reference those files: "Brand-Voice Writer" reads my-voice.md for style, my-business.md for offers, who-i-am.md for values. Run that Skill and Claude behaves like a brand-consistent writer.

Day to day

Always work inside the relevant Project. Skills make workflows one-click and consistent. You never re-explain yourself.

Watch out

If you update my-voice.md in one Project, keep the others in sync. Projects don't auto-merge contexts.

Claude ChatAnthropic's main interface at claude.ai, plus mobile and desktop apps.
What it is
Anthropic's main interface at claude.ai, plus mobile and desktop apps. Runs on Claude Sonnet 5 (launched June 30, 2026) as the default on both Free and Pro, with Claude Opus 5.5 (launched September 22, 2026) as the strongest everyday model you can switch to. A calm, thoughtful AI you talk to like a smart, non-judgmental collaborator. Especially strong at long-form writing, editing, and deep thinking. Anthropic says Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1, its top model, on most work, costs 40% less to run than Opus 5 on typical workloads, and writes its answers more than 30% faster. You can set the effort level per request (medium is the default in the Claude apps) to dial reasoning up for hard problems or down for routine ones.
Use it when
You are writing sales pages, nurture emails, lesson plans, or policies. You want a grounded thinking partner to work through complex decisions. You are revising important long-form content and want clarity, not flash.
What you need
A rough goal ("outline my group program," "polish this sales page," "help me write a client letter"). Any reference material: previous launch copy, client avatars, brand voice notes.
Plan required
- Free: $0. Limited daily messages and web access, but you get Sonnet 5, the same default model paying users get, plus Claude Design, Slides, and Docs (on every plan since October 8, 2026). Worth knowing before you upgrade out of habit. - Pro: $20/month ($17/month billed annually). Sonnet 5 by default with Opus 5.5 available, Projects, Skills, Artifacts, Claude Code, task handoff (formerly Cowork), Claude Design, Slides, and Docs, Deep Research. - Max 5x: $100/month. Roughly 5x Pro capacity, Opus 5.5, full Claude Code usage, and $100/month in Claude Platform API credits (since October 7, 2026). - Max 20x: $200/month. Roughly 20x Pro capacity, for all-day heavy use, and $200/month in API credits. - Team: Standard seats $20/seat/month billed annually ($25 otherwise). Premium seats $100/seat/month billed annually ($125 otherwise), with Max-level usage and Claude Code. Each Standard seat adds $20/month and each Premium seat $100/month to a pooled API credit, capped at $500 per team. - Enterprise: $20/seat/month billed annually, plus usage that scales with model and task. - Claude for Teachers: free for verified US K-12 educators, and a free year for US K-12 schools and districts that sign up by June 30, 2027.
Limitation
Claude is sometimes slower and more cautious than ChatGPT. Less "wow, magic!" but more "ok, this actually makes sense." Claude now creates custom charts and inline visualizations directly in responses, Claude Design (launched April 17, 2026) handles designs and prototypes, and Claude Slides and Claude Docs (September 16, 2026, out of beta on every plan, Free included, since October 8, 2026) draft decks you can download as PowerPoint or PDF and documents you write with Claude, so the visual gap has narrowed. For raster images and AI video you will still pair with a separate tool (Canva Magic Studio, Ideogram, ChatGPT Images 2.5, Gemini Nano Banana 2). Claude has voice mode on mobile but cannot reliably transcribe uploaded audio files. For live voice capture or meeting transcription, use ChatGPT Voice, Gemini Live, or Otter.ai. Anthropic has also confirmed Claude products will remain ad-free.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Chat is the direct equivalent (more enthusiastic, broader features). Gemini Chat is Google's version (tighter Google integration, more "search engine with AI" energy).
Claude ProjectsSmart folders that remember everything.
What it is
Smart folders that remember everything. You create a Project ("2026 Launch," "Client Resources," "Book Draft"), upload your docs, and set custom instructions. Claude treats everything in that Project as context every time you talk there. You never re-explain your business or that project's details.
Use it when
You are doing anything multi-week: course build, group program creation, rebrand, book. You want a persistent "Business Operations" or "Brand Voice" Project that holds your context files (who-i-am.md, my-business.md, my-voice.md).
What you need
A named project boundary (e.g., "New 12-week parenting group" separate from "Book draft"). Core context docs ready to upload.
Plan required
Basic Projects exist on Free with limited capacity. Full Projects with more files and context on Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise.
Limitation
Projects don't automatically organize your chaos. They just hold it. You still need to name files sensibly and decide what each Project is for. If you are used to ChatGPT's global Memory, project-scoped memory may feel more manual, but it gives you better control.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Projects + Memory (similar, but many users find Claude Projects simpler and more transparent). Notebooks in Gemini + Gemini Notebook (more research-heavy and tightly tied to Drive). For non-technical business owners, Claude Projects are often the clearest way to keep work separated.
Claude SkillsReusable, structured prompt templates you attach to a Project.
What it is
Reusable, structured prompt templates you attach to a Project. Instead of typing the same long instructions every time, you define a Skill like "Podcast-to-Content Engine" or "Case-Note Summarizer," then run it with new inputs each time. Skills can guide Claude through multi-step processes, not just one response.
Use it when
You have a repeatable workflow: "Take a client call transcript, summarize with key themes, and suggest homework." "Turn my live call outline into email, show notes, and social posts." You want your business to feel like it has playbooks, not random prompts.
What you need
A documented process ("Step 1: do X; Step 2: do Y"). A few example runs to refine the Skill before using it on real client work.
Plan required
Best experience on Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise. Free users have minimal Skills support.
Limitation
Designing a good Skill is work. You are building a mini-system, not just writing a one-off prompt. There is no public "Skill store" yet. Skills are personal/team tools, not discovery-oriented.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT plugins (which replace Custom GPTs on December 11, 2026) partially fill this role, but Skills attach to Projects and can shape many tasks within a workspace, not just a single chatbot persona. Gemini skills, which are replacing Gems, are the closest Google equivalent.
Claude ArtifactsStandalone outputs that appear in a panel next to the chat: websites, calculators, documents, slide decks, diagrams, interactive tools, and more.
What it is
Standalone outputs that appear in a panel next to the chat: websites, calculators, documents, slide decks, diagrams, interactive tools, and more. You can view, edit, and download them (often as HTML/CSS/JS, Markdown, or other files) to actually use or deploy them. You can host an Artifact on Netlify as a live web page for free.
Use it when
You want Claude to build a landing page (HTML + CSS), a calculator to embed on your site, a resource document to send clients, an interactive diagnostic tool, or a quiz. You want more than chat text. You want files you can actually use.
What you need
A specific output in mind. Willingness to preview and tweak before using with clients. For deployment: a free Netlify account and basic comfort downloading and uploading a file.
Plan required
Available on Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise and in limited form on Free.
Limitation
Artifacts are powerful but not magic. Don't deploy code you don't understand on sensitive systems. For very complex apps, you still need a developer. Artifacts are for small, focused tools and pages.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Canvas is a collaborative editing workspace, but Artifacts are treated as "real objects" you can version, download, and deploy. Gemini Canvas can create interactive experiences, but the Artifact panel UX is one of Claude's standout features. Key difference: Artifacts are deployable. Canvas is not.
Claude CodeAnthropic's coding agent, now running on the Claude 5.5 family with Opus 5.5 (launched September 22, 2026) as the strongest everyday option.
What it is
Anthropic's coding agent, now running on the Claude 5.5 family with Opus 5.5 (launched September 22, 2026) as the strongest everyday option. It runs three ways: inside Claude Desktop (the easiest entry point for non-technical owners), in a terminal, or in your IDE. It reads, refactors, and writes code, runs tests, and produces full applications. Non-technical owners now build with it directly. No developer required. Anthropic says Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work, so the code it hands you needs less babysitting than it did a year ago. Claude Code Routines (April 14, 2026) let you define a prompt once, connect it to your repos and integrations, then fire it on a schedule (cron), via API webhook, or on GitHub events. NEW (May 28, 2026): Dynamic Workflows let Claude plan the work and then run hundreds of parallel subagents in a single session, for codebase-scale migrations across hundreds of thousands of lines. Dynamic Workflows are limited to Enterprise, Team, and Max plans (Pro does not include them).
Use it when
You're building internal tools, automations, deployable pages, or custom apps you want to own outright. Claude Desktop is the entry point if you've never touched a terminal.
What you need
Claude Desktop installed (you already have it for chat). Clear specs and a willingness to read what Claude produces before deploying. You do not need to be technical. You need to describe what you're building in plain language and notice when something looks off.
Plan required
Pro ($20/month) includes Claude Code and 5 Routine runs/day. Max 5x ($100/month) gets 15 runs/day and Dynamic Workflows. Max 20x ($200/month) for full capacity. Team/Enterprise get 25 runs/day plus Dynamic Workflows. Team Premium seats ($100/seat/month billed annually, $125 otherwise) for dev-heavy roles. For API users at Builder level: Opus 5.5 costs $4/M input + $20/M output, 20% less per token than Opus 5. Sonnet 5.5 (September 28, 2026) keeps Sonnet 5's price of $2/M input + $10/M output. Anthropic made that $2/$10 Sonnet price permanent on August 10, 2026, so the $3/$15 increase once set for September 1 never took effect. UPDATE (May 6, 2026): Anthropic doubled Claude Code's five-hour rate limits across Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise, and removed the peak-hours limit reduction on Pro and Max. Additional capacity is coming online via Anthropic's SpaceX Colossus 1 compute deal (300 megawatts, 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs) directly supporting Pro and Max subscribers. UPDATE (September 22, 2026): Anthropic raised five-hour usage limits again on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise alongside the Opus 5.5 launch, and gave subscribers a rate limit reset you can save and use whenever you choose.
Limitation
Max plans and Team Premium seats are expensive at the higher tiers. Pro at $20/mo with 5 Routine runs/day is plenty for most solo operators running one or two production tools. Combining individual Max plans can be cheaper than Team Premium for small teams.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Codex (as of April 16, now has background computer use with its own cursor on Mac, runs multiple agents in parallel, 90+ plugins). Gemini Code Assist + Jules (strong on Google Cloud). Independent tests consistently rate Claude Code as best for complex logic, large codebases, and debugging. With Routines, Claude Code now also competes with Gemini Scheduled Actions for automated recurring tasks.
Claude CoworkCowork started as a separate desktop automation agent.
What it is
Cowork started as a separate desktop automation agent. Since September 16, 2026, Cowork and chat are one Claude. You hand over a task in any conversation, like a report due at noon, and Claude keeps working on it even after you close your laptop. Schedule it (every Monday, for example) and Claude starts the work without being asked. Rolling out to Pro and Max first, with Team and Free to follow.
Use it when
You have a repeatable computer workflow: downloading Stripe reports, uploading to a folder, entering data into a sheet. You want to offload robot work but don't want to hire another VA.
What you need
Very clear standard operating procedures for tasks. Comfort with giving an AI limited control over your desktop.
Plan required
Pro and Max first, rolling out since September 16, 2026. Team and Free follow, with no date yet. Enterprise admins get at least 30 days notice before anything changes.
Limitation
Still brittle. UI changes and pop-ups can break flows. Treat Claude's tasks like a junior assistant you supervise, not a fully independent staffer. Overkill for many early-stage solopreneurs. Not worth the cost until you have stable, repeated processes.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Work is the closest equivalent (an agent for longer tasks that creates finished documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, with Scheduled Tasks). Gemini has strong Workspace actions but less generalized "do things on my computer" behavior.
Claude MCP IntegrationsA protocol that lets Claude connect to other apps: Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Notion, Slack, Supabase, Zapier, and more.
What it is
A protocol that lets Claude connect to other apps: Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Notion, Slack, Supabase, Zapier, and more. With MCP, Claude can read docs, send Slack messages, create tasks, query databases, and work within your existing systems instead of being a separate chat box.
Use it when
Your business is big enough that manual copy-paste between tools is a real tax. You want Claude to work within your existing systems (Notion, Asana, Airtable, Slack, Google Drive).
What you need
Reasonably organized tools and clear data locations. Light technical support or willingness to follow tutorials to set up connectors.
Plan required
Generally available starting from Pro. More options and management on Team/Enterprise.
Limitation
MCP is powerful but not plug-and-play. Closer to infrastructure than a simple "click to connect" integration. For many solo practitioners, ChatGPT's simpler connectors or Gemini's native Workspace integration might be easier to adopt first.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT has connectors and integrations (especially on Business/Enterprise), more plug-in style. Gemini integrates natively into Workspace but is less configurable outside that. MCP is the most flexible and developer-grade way to wire AI into your stack, but that also makes it more technical.
Claude Chrome ExtensionA browser extension that lets Claude see and work with the page you are viewing.
What it is
A browser extension that lets Claude see and work with the page you are viewing. Summarizes long articles, analyzes sales pages, extracts data, and drafts responses based on what you are browsing. Since August 26, 2026 it can also take actions in the browser on its own.
Use it when
You are reading a research article and want a summary. You are reviewing a competitor's sales page and want Claude to audit it and suggest your angle.
What you need
Plan required
Generally available on every paid Claude plan since August 26, 2026.
Limitation
Can miss content behind logins or heavy JavaScript. Sometimes you will still paste text manually. It does not run on other Chromium browsers or on mobile yet. For daily browsing helpers, Gemini's Chrome integration may feel more native.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT has browser extensions (similar idea). Gemini in Chrome is deeply integrated on Google's side. Claude's extension is mostly about thinking and writing over pages.
Claude Deep ResearchMulti-step research mode.
What it is
Multi-step research mode. Claude plans searches, reads multiple sources, and produces a structured, cited report. Often higher factual care and more readable prose than standard chat.
Use it when
You are entering a new topic or niche and want a grounded overview. Preparing teaching material and want structured summary plus citations.
What you need
Plan required
Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise with monthly query caps. Max gets significantly more.
Limitation
Slower and more conservative. You won't get as many "hot takes," which is usually a good thing. For super-fresh, newsy topics, Gemini's search tie-in may surface more live information.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT Deep Research (some say more aggressive and verbose). Gemini Deep Research (integrated with Google search and can access your Gmail/Drive). Independent comparisons often show Claude's Deep Research winning on clarity and "feels like a human researcher" tone.
Extended ThinkingLets Claude spend more internal "thought" on a problem, yielding more accurate and nuanced answers for complex tasks: strategy, ethics, multi-step planning.
What it is
Lets Claude spend more internal "thought" on a problem, yielding more accurate and nuanced answers for complex tasks: strategy, ethics, multi-step planning. Sometimes surfaced via Opus model or specific toggles.
Use it when
You need careful help on sensitive topics (boundaries, trauma-informed language, policy decisions). Designing complex programs where details matter.
What you need
Plan required
Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise.
Limitation
Slower and uses more of your plan's capacity. Don't use Extended Thinking for trivial tasks. For fast, surface-level work, ChatGPT or Gemini might feel snappier.
Closest comparison
ChatGPT's Thinking options in the model picker (GPT-6 Sol thinking levels on Plus and up, GPT-6 Astra Pro on Pro, Business, and Enterprise) offer a similar idea. Gemini Deep Think modes exist in AI Ultra. Claude's reputation is particularly strong here: more willing to say "I'm not sure" and reason carefully rather than bluff.
Claude DesignAn Anthropic Labs product (launched April 17, 2026) that turns plain language into visual prototypes, slide decks, presentations, and designed documents.
What it is
An Anthropic Labs product (launched April 17, 2026) that turns plain language into visual prototypes, slide decks, presentations, and designed documents. Now part of Claude itself; the standalone claude.ai/design site stays open until December 14, 2026, so move anything you keep there before then. Not a rebrand of Artifacts. Claude Design is genuinely new: it can read your company's design system (colors, typography, components) and auto-apply brand treatment to everything it creates. Exports to Canva, PDF, PPTX, standalone HTML, or shareable URLs. Since September 16, 2026, two siblings sit beside it: Claude Slides (Claude drafts the deck, you edit it, and you can download it as PowerPoint or PDF) and Claude Docs (a document you write with Claude). All three left beta on October 8, 2026 and are on every Claude plan, Free included.
Use it when
You need a pitch deck, course slide deck, client presentation, or visual prototype fast and you want it on-brand without opening Canva or PowerPoint first. Especially powerful if you upload your design system once and every output matches automatically.
What you need
A clear description of what you want ("10-slide pitch deck for my group program," "visual prototype of my course sales page"). Optional but powerful: your brand's design system files (colors, fonts, logo) uploaded during onboarding.
Plan required
Every Claude plan, Free included, since October 8, 2026. Usage is metered separately from chat and Claude Code, with its own weekly allowance. On Enterprise, it turns on by default October 15, 2026, or admins can turn it on sooner.
Limitation
Out of beta since October 8, 2026, but still young, so expect rough edges. The design system ingestion is the strongest feature but takes initial setup. For complex multi-page designs with precise layout control, you will still reach for Canva or Figma. Claude Design is fastest for "good enough to present tomorrow" not "pixel-perfect brand collateral." Also: it does not generate photographic images. It creates layouts, slides, and prototypes using design elements, not AI-generated photos.
Closest comparison
This sits between Canva AI and Figma. ChatGPT has Canvas for document editing but nothing that generates branded visual prototypes from a prompt. Gemini has Canvas for interactive apps but not design-system-aware visual output. The Canva export integration is notable: Anthropic and Canva partnered directly on this.
Other Claude CapabilitiesWeb Search: Available on all tiers.
What it is
Web Search: Available on all tiers. Claude searches the web for current information. More careful in how it presents results but sometimes slower than Gemini's native Google Search integration. File Upload and Analysis: PDFs, images, audio, spreadsheets. Strongest available for long, dense documents and subtle reasoning. Larger context and more files on Pro/Max. Image Understanding (NOT generation): Claude can analyze images (screenshots, diagrams, social posts, whiteboard photos) but cannot create images. If you need generation, use Ideogram, Canva AI, or ChatGPT/Gemini.
